Description:
VoiceLock is a combined loudspeaking intercom and lockout unit for use with the CLOIS 3000 Combined Communication, Lock Out Indication & Signalling system.

The VoiceLock combines a battery powered loudspeaking intercom and a lockout in one rugged rustproof enclosure. An internal Nickel Metal Hydride battery provides the power for the amplifier and is trickle charges from a central power supply unit via an interconnecting cable. It also allows communications during mains failures.

The unit comprises a rugged rustproof fiberglass enclosure which houses a front facing high efficiency horn loudspeaker, a tropicalised microphone, Call & PTT buttons, a protected Lockout switch, battery, electronics and terminal blocks. Cable entries are provided at each side of the unit. Internal connections are to terminal blocks.

Broadcast Audio
Signals on the Audio wire, which exceed a preset threshold, are broadcast by the loudspeaker. Output level is up to 93dBA @ 1m during PSA.

Speak (PTT)
Pressing the Speak button disables the loudspeaker and enables the microphone. Speech will be broadcast by any other unit connected to the circuit.

Call
Pressing the Call button causes the VoiceLock or a Central Controller to broadcast a 2kHz tone for the time that the button is pressed.

Lockout
Operating the Lockout Switch breaks the Lockout line and generates an interrupt to a Central Controller over the Audio line. The Central Controller can interrogate the unit to determine the lockout position. A facility is provided to lock the switch into its operated position.
