SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Racal Telecom were awarded the contract from Thames trains to supply and install a quantity of Help Point telephones for use by customers at stations on their rail network.

SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY
The requirement from Racal Telecom was for a single button hands free telephone designed to be vandal resistant but to remain user friendly, particularly to the physically impaired user.
GAI-Tronics. will provide a variant of their Sentinel hands free telephones incorporating a single specially designed flush mounted steel button for ON and OFF and Auto-dial. The unit will be inductive coupler compatible for use with hearing aids and will incorporate embossed Braille messaging provided by the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
The ability and willingness of GAI-Tronics to meet the specific customers requirements enabled them to beat off strongly placed competitors to win both this and similar contracts.
