SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Bermat S.A. and GAI-Tronics were awarded the contract to supply Siemens Transportation Systems with trackside telephones. The contract was awarded in February 2005 with phased delivery through to May 2005, with a further
extension in December 2005.

The Chilean capital city of Santiago has a large and expanding metro system, which serves a metropolitan area with a population of 4.6 million, representing almost a third of the country's population. A plan drawn up in 1968 envisaged the construction of five metro lines, using rubber-tyred vehicles, and extending to a total of 60km (40 miles). Metro de Santiago S.A, awarded Siemens Transportation Systems an order to provide the power supplies and maintenance for its new metro lines 4 and 4A. The lines will cover urban districts and will run partly in tunnels, partly elevated and part at ground level. Over a total distance of 32 kilometers they will stop at 28 stations. Both lines are due to be completed by the end of 2005 and Metro de Santiago estimates expect to carry more than 91 million passengers per year.

SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY

GAI-Tronics will supply a total of two hundred and five (205) Titan, and one
hundred and seventy three (173) Commander telephones for trackside,
emergency and maintenance use. In the event of an emergency within a tunnel, GAI-Tronics telephones may be used to call emergency services. For this reason the telephones used must be both rugged and reliable. GAI-Tronics Titan telephones provide the answer for this harsh environment.
